In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis, today the Department of Molecular Microbiology at the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo, received:

– COVID 19 testing apparatus known as RT PCR,
– The liquid handling robot, an equipment that automatically prepares enzymes for PCR amplification
– Consumables for these tests.

This donation will increase the capacity of the NIPH Molecular Laboratory, increase the number of testing and will play a major role in the early detection of the disease as one of the pillars of the fight against COVID epidemic. Furthermore, the equipment will be used for testing and early detection of other infectious diseases.

The continuation of the health system support was done through HIV and Tuberculosis Programs supported by the Global Fund and implemented by the CDF in support of the Ministry of Health.
