Time Travel Project

To contribute to improvement of the quality and diversification of the tourism offer building on natural and cultural heritage at cross-border rural areas of KOS and MNE.

Specific Objectives​

To develop a know-how model for preserving, valorizing, interpreting and integrating heritage sites along nature trails into comprehensive natural and cultural tourism offer, and to jointly promote them.

  1. R1 Cross-border tourist cluster formed with the aim to create a recognizable thematic tourist offer “TIME TRAVEL” which connect 5 key heritage sites in KOS to 5 heritage sites in MNE
  2. R2 Light visitor and access infrastructure arranged to support the development of key products (sign posting and heritage interpretation routes for tourism purposes);
  3. R3 Built capacity of target groups regarding development and management of identified heritage assets and its potential to spill off and improve economic and social environment of CB area
  4. R4 Joint marketing campaign implemented

Target Groups​

  • Regional, local and central authorities;
  • Tourism Boards (TB)/departments and their employees;
  • National Parks, Institutions for the management of natural and cultural heritage;
  • Private operators in tourism;
  • Rural households and unemployed persons;
  • Cultural and folk associations and institutions and other civil society organizations working on heritage.

Core Project Activities

  1. Project management, monitoring and evaluation (R1-4) Activity
  2. Mapping, identification and interpretation of joint tourism offer
    1. Detailed assessment and analysis of tourism assets in project target area /mapping
    2. Development of joint tourism itineraries
    3. Joint thematic routes interpretation and valorization
  3. Activity Installation of light visitor infrastructure and small-scale works
    1. Development of cultural thematic routes in KOS and MNE
    2. Small scale interventions along nature trails which connects sites of interests and thematic routes
  4. Educational activities and workshops.
    1. Training for guides interpreting cultural heritage sites.
    2. Training in sustainable management of cultural/nature.
  5. Joint media campaign and visibility actions (R1-4)
