Cultural Renaissance from Lake Skadar to Kosovo – “Time Travel”

The Time Travel project stands as a testament to how culture can transcend borders and bring people together. Implemented by the Community Development Fund (CDF) in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Tourism Initiatives (CSTI – Montenegro), the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro (NTO), and the Municipality of Klina, this cross-border initiative reimagined the shared cultural and natural heritage between Kosovo and Montenegro as a common journey of connection and growth.

With the support of the European Union, the project developed and promoted thematic heritage routes that link key historical, cultural, and natural sites across the two countries. Through improved infrastructure, community engagement, and capacity-building activities, Time Travel has not only enhanced tourism potential but also strengthened regional cooperation and mutual understanding.

The project’s impact was celebrated in Klina during its closing ceremony, where communities from both sides of the border came together to honor a shared past and envision a shared future. “When shared history is honored, it becomes a bridge that connects people,” was the message that echoed through the event — capturing the very essence of what Time Travel achieved.

By creating new pathways for sustainable cultural and natural tourism, Time Travel has become more than a project — it’s a bridge between neighbors, cultures, and generations. Two neighbors, one journey — united through history, heritage, and hope for a sustainable regional future.
