Meet Lejdina Franca, a determined young woman who turned her passion for science into reality with support from the M4Y project. Despite challenges, she brought the “Chemistry Class” project to life at Professional High School in Drenas “Fehmi Lladrovci”. Now, with modern equipment, students can dive into practical experiments, fueling their curiosity and love for chemistry. Lejdina was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the M4Y grant scheme, designed to support youth-led initiatives that bring innovation and social impact to local communities. Her idea stood out for its creativity, sustainability, and its potential to improve the quality of science education in her school.

Motivated by her own experience of learning theory without hands-on practice, Lejdina envisioned a space where every student could see, touch, and explore the science they were studying. Through the support of the Municipalities for Youth (M4Y) project, implemented by CDF, that vision became a reality.

With dedication and teamwork, Lejdina mobilized resources, collaborated with teachers, and transformed a regular classroom into a dynamic laboratory environment. The newly equipped chemistry lab now includes modern tools and instruments that enable students to perform real experiments safely and effectively. This initiative not only enhances the quality of education but also inspires a new generation of young scientists, particularly encouraging more girls to pursue STEM fields.

Today, the “Chemistry Class” project stands as a model of youth-led innovation — proving that with the right support, ideas can turn into impactful actions.
