Human Rightivism
Funded by Embassy of Sweden in Prishtina
Advance human rights, empower marginalized groups, and drive positive social and environmental change through coordinated advocacy, capacity building, and awareness-raising efforts across various sectors and communities.
Diverse and crucial groups champion human rights, environmental protection, and labor rights, notably marginalized communities and economically disadvantaged groups facing significant barriers. Youth and young women drive social change through advocacy, while civil society organizations mobilize communities and advocate for policy change. Local communities, affected firsthand by environmental degradation, collaborate with stakeholders, including governmental institutions, to drive policy reform. Journalists act as watchdogs, reporting abuses, while labor rights advocates strive for fair treatment and safe working conditions, challenging systemic injustices.
Component One focuses on human rights education and activism, engaging marginalized youth through educational activities and street actions, addressing issues such as the Kosovo War and discrimination. It also empowers individuals against sexual harassment and advocates for the rights of marginalized groups like the LGBTQI+ community and people with disabilities.
Component Two, monitoring and documentation, involves researching environmental impacts, sharing human rights content via social media, and training journalists. It also strengthens legal capacities through international cooperation.
Component Three emphasizes environmental rights, collaborating with communities on initiatives, addressing climate change, and educating youth on environmental issues.
Component Four focuses on workers’ rights, producing policy briefs, providing professional development, and advocating for policy changes. Together, these components form a comprehensive approach to advancing human rights, environmental protection, and labor rights through education, advocacy, and collaboration.
