Q1. 

Which are the 16 municipalities that are covered by the AKT – LS program?

A1.

The 16 municipalities which are covered by AKT – LS Program are: Gjilan/Gnjilane, Graçanicë/Gračanica, Istog/Istok, Klinë/Klina, Kllokot/Klokot, Leposaviq/Leposavić, Mitrovicë e Veriut/North Mitrovica, Novobërdë/Novo Brdo, Obiliq/Obilić, Partesh/Parteš, Pejë/Peć, Ranilluk/Ranilug, Shtërpcë/Štrpce, Vushtrri/Vučitrn, ZubinPotok/ZubinPotok and Zveçan/Zvečan.


Q2. 

What is the ceiling for grants for businesses?

A2.

The AKT – LS has published two Requests for Applications for businesses, the RFA-01 for grants up to $6,000 and RFA-02 for grants up to $25,000.

Under RFA-01 grants will be made to the following type of organizations:

  • Micro and Small Enterprises and start-ups (According to Law No.03/L-031, a Micro Enterprise is considered any enterprises having 1 to 9 employees and a Small Enterprise is considered any enterprise having 10 to 49 employees).

Under RFA-02 grant will be made to the following types of organizations:

  • Small and Medium Enterprises (According to Law No.03/L-031, a Small Enterprise is considered any enterprises having 10 to 49 employees Medium Enterprise is considered any enterprises having 50 to 249 employees).

Q3. 

If my company/organization is registered in other than the 16 covered municipalities by the AKT – LS Program, may I apply for a grant if activities are going to be implemented in one or more of the covered municipalities?

A3.

The AKT – LS program will support activities which occur within the abovementioned municipalities, no matter if the company/organization headquarters are based in other parts of Kosovo. 


Q4. 

Is cost sharing a requirement in order to be eligible for a grant from AKT-LS?

A4.

The AKT – LS Program encourages cost share from grantees especially from those applying for grants up to $25,000, for which projects we would like to see a cost share of minimum 15% of the total cost.


Q5. 

Are businesses owned by Albanian community members allowed to apply as long as they generate employment for the non-majority community members?

A5.

Yes, businesses owned by Albanian community members are eligible to apply for grants as long as they generate employment for the non-majority community members.
